The next self-release from Mike Morrisey is his ‘Akimbo’ EP. Another diverse combination of dancefloor jams, giving you a look inside the mind of one of the UK’s most-acclaimed prospects.

One of his most highly sought after tracks to date, ‘Akimbo’ infuses Libero Sound with that moreish UK Deep Tech soundscape that is so prominent of late. Hard-hitting but also loosely swung, making for the perfect combo of punch and verve. Throw in a hypnotic vocal top line and a delicate synth melody and you’re left with a care-free end product that you can easily break loose to in any situation.

‘Moving On’ continues with a salute to Libero, with a definitive display of the imprint’s unique characteristics. Uptempo and minimalistic grooves - focusing on layers of percussion and a rhythmic bass melody, passing through peaks and troughs of energy along the way.

Next up is 'Que Calor', a low-slung, percussive driver that sticks true to Mike's trademark sound. Delayed synths and Latin vocals work in conjunction with a robust low end to produce an end product that oozes class.

‘On Ya Mind’ is a pulsating low-end groover with ample drive. Pushed forward by a catchy vocal hook and a rattling synth line that cascades down semitones in time with the rhythm, the track features a stripped-back underground personality with an almost tribal feel.

‘Dinger’ caps things off with resounding amounts of gusto. Taking elements from previous production styles and influence from different imprints that have had an impact on Mike along the way, the track is a thrilling fusion of high-energy Tech House grooves, minimalist percussion, captivating and gritty melodic components and simplistic vox construction.
